The St. Louis Fire Sprinkler Alliance did a Side-By-Side Burn Demonstration for the Jefferson County Fire Engine Rally on Saturday September 28, 2019. This year’s Rally was dedicated to Pvt. Kieth Parker of the Crestwood Fire Department who passed away earlier this year. The Master of Ceremonies was Retired Assistant Fire Chief Glenn Nivens.

Paul Richard, with NFSA, was also on hand to help with the demonstration.

Both rooms are the same. No accelerates are used ! We simply light the newspaper in the trash cans. The Sprinklered room activates in about 30 seconds and keeps the fire under control. The unsprinklered room goes to flashover in about 3 minutes !

Paul Richard is preparing the rooms for the side-by-side burn demonstration.
